According to data from Spate, the leading AI-powered consumer trend intelligence platform, Arabian Perfumes, Gourmand Perfumes and Vanilla Perfumes were the most three popular perfume trends on Google, Instagram and TikTok in 2025.

But interestingly while the popularity of Arabian Perfumes is here to stay in the next twelve months, Spate predicting it to increase 36% in the next twelve months, the interest for Gourmand and Vanilla perfume should peak in the first quarter of 2027 but then go down with decreases in popularity of more than 40% between June 2026 and May 2027.
The rise of Arabian perfume can be linked to a more structural trend with the Middle East transforming from a major consumer of fragrance to a global exporter. Between 2014 and 2025, the UAE went from the tenth to the third largest perfume exporter in the world, behind only France and Spain, with exports reaching nearly $3 billion. And this success spans all price points. In the mass market, Latafa was the number two best-selling brand on Amazon in Q4. In the premium space, Huda Beauty was the number one brand at Sephora in the US. And in luxury, the Omani brand Amouage has seen a staggering 30% annual growth over the last five years.
The rise of gourmand fragrances and partly by extension vanilla fragrances has more conjectural roots: with the recent rise of GLP-1 medications and renewed diet culture, consumers are increasingly using scent as a way to access the comfort of food without actually eating it. It seems as the hype for those drugs goes down, the interest for gourmand fragrance could also be affected.
