Beauty is already one of the largest discovery categories on Pinterest. 85% of the platform users claim they discover beauty trends and ideas on Pinterest before they see those anywhere else, while 64% think Pinterest is the best place to find up-to-date beauty trends.

Pinterest just released its 2026 beauty report and I was surprised with the level of specificity in the fastest-growing searches. It seems consumers are not only looking for “chrome nails” or “brown hair”, but for very precise combinations of colours, finishes and aesthetics.
Among the beauty trends highlighted in the Pinterest report one of the most popular is nail art, which is becoming more reflective and playful. The searches for polka dot cat eye nails increased by +1,585%, while jelly pink chrome nails by +1,469%. Chrome, cat-eye, jelly and aurora finishes are increasingly being paired with dots, stripes and darker accents.
Hair is shifting towards warmer and moodier colours and contrast. Mocha balayage hair increased by +949% and soft copper blonde by +845%, while there’s also strong growth for cherry-cola, plum and espresso hair colours. Rather than uniformity, the colouring trend is now heading to the contrast between dark bases and light ribbon shades.
Fragrances are becoming more comforting and gourmand. There’s growth in searches for solid perfume aesthetic (+333%), marshmallow perfume (+248%) and milky perfume (+134%). Fragrances are becoming softer, sweeter and nostalgic, and there’s a rise in such concepts as “skin scent” and fragrance wardrobe.
Body care is being increasingly incorporated into a skincare routine. Body wash for glowing skin increased by +206%, body care routine aesthetic by +202%, while people get interested in such trends as retinol body lotions, dry brushing, scalp treatments and exfoliation. Traditionally facial skincare routine is expanding into the full-body beauty routine.
Among other rising aesthetics in the Pinterest report there are such trends as pink hair via streaks and colour contrasts, frost and metallic makeup inspired by the 2000s, more bold blush in peach, berry and terracotta shades, textured and layered bobs, soft “romantic” makeup, coffee, caramel and fruit inspired nails, and even the “Farm to Face” beauty with growing interest in ingredients such as rosemary water, rice water, turmeric and olive oil.
